Professional Background
Mr. Sarwar is the director at SMI Advisory & Consultancy Services, specializing in taxation, VAT & customs, and financial reporting services for a diverse range of businesses. Mr. Sarwar is a professional tax lawyer recognized by the Revenue Board (NBR) of Bangladesh and member of Dhaka Taxes Bar.
Additionally, Mr. Sarwar received a Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) from the University of Dhaka. He has also partially completed his Chartered Accountancy from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB).
Before establishing SMI Advisory & Consultancy Services, Mr. Sarwar was the Senior Manager of Taxation and Financial Reporting at PowerChina Resources Limited, Bangladesh, a prominent power & energy company in the world, where he managed the company’s taxation, VAT & customs, and financial reporting functions.
Additionally, in his role as an assistant manager, Mr. Sarwar gained extensive experience during his article-ship at Snehasish Mahmud & Co. (DFK International), a renowned chartered accountancy firm, working as an accounting and tax VAT consultant during the years 2016 to 2021 for multiple companies, firms, and NGOs, including MNCs.
His professional experience spans various sectors, including power & energy, manufacturing, trading, service-based companies, and branch offices, making him well-versed in delivering tailored financial and compliance solutions.
Md. Ameerul Islam

Md. Ameerul Islam is a qualified Chartered Accountant in 2023 from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), and he is also an affiliate member 2019 of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Additionally, Mr Ameerul received his BBA, MBA in Finance from the University of Chittagong in 2017 to 2018 respectively. He completed his article ship from Snehasish Mahmud & Co, a member firm of DFK International.
In spite of this, Mr. Ameerul has served in various multinational companies as a manager of Snehasis Mahmud & Co. for financial reporting, audit, and assurance services.
Over the years, Mr. Ameerul has gained extensive experience in the areas of Statutory Audit and financial reporting, Not for Profit (NGO) audit, Internal audit, Management audit, Process developments, Fund management review and Financial Review, Financial Due diligence, Valuation services, Fixed assets verification, Physical Verification of Inventory, and other advisory services.

Mr. Rahman received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management from National University of Gazipur.
Before establishing SMI Advisory & Consultancy Services, Mr. Rahman was the Manager of Taxation & Financial Reporting (including Banking) at PowerChina Resources Limited, Bangladesh, a prominent power & energy company in the world, where he managed the company’s taxation, VAT, and reporting functions.
He is also skilled in the IT sector and completed an advanced professional course in Oracle Database Management System from IDB Bhaban, Dhaka Agargaon.
His professional experience spans various sectors, including power & energy, manufacturing, trading, service-based companies, and branch offices, making him well-versed in delivering tailored financial and compliance solutions.
